Before the estimate
List the trees, your concerns and any previous work. Measure accessible gate openings from a safe position. Mention pools, walls, irrigation, landscape lighting and shared driveways. Take photos from the ground without entering a hazardous area.
Before work begins
Confirm the work limits, permissions, staging area and cleanup. Follow the contractor’s instructions for moving vehicles and outdoor furniture. Arrange for pets and children to remain away from the work area.
At completion
Walk the agreed areas with the provider when it is safe. Compare the result with the written scope, record any remaining work and keep the invoice and care recommendations. Use the quote worksheet to review any separately priced tasks.
